Special Announcement

Our Journey Ends...

Dear Atlanta Apologist Members,

It is with great sadness that I must inform you that the Atlanta Apologist is closing its operations as of today. The leadership team reached this decision after much prayer and careful consideration. We encourage you to remain involved with apologetics, particularly with apologetics that integrates science and Christian faith. One organization that does this on college campuses is Ratio Christi. Ratio Christi equips university students and faculty to give historical, scientific, and philosophical reasons to believe Christianity is true.

There are nearby Ratio Christi (RC) chapters where you can get involved with helping young people find reasonable answers to some of the complex challenges to Christianity. If you want to explore these options, please prayerfully consider contacting one or more of the RC chapters listed below. You may email us for contact information.

1. RC at Kennesaw State University (KSU) Kennesaw campus (established)

2. RC at Georgia College & State University (GCSU) at Milledgeville (forming now)

3. RC Atlanta

4. RC at KSU Marietta campus (you can help get this going)

5. RC at JFCA (Johnson Ferry Christian Academy High School - potential)

Thank you for supporting the Atlanta Chapter of Reasons to Believe (RTB) and its successor, Atlanta Apologist. As we end a long run, we want to pay homage to our previous leaders. John Walley founded the Atlanta RTB chapter as the first president (2004-2006). Subsequent presidents were Robert McKnight (2006-2007), Rod Nave (2007-2021) and Don Taylor (2021-present). We owe a special debt of thanks to Rod Nave and his wife, Brenda, who shepherded the Atlanta chapter of RTB for 14 years and did more than any others to bridge the perceived gap between science and the Bible by demonstrating how scripture and science complement each other. Thank you, Rod and Brenda!

As for all of our members, we pray that the Holy Spirit will empower you to continue your work as ambassadors for Christ.

Sincerely,

Donald R. Taylor, MD

President
