| Abstract: | ||
| All worldviews, including atheism, require faith. I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist argues that Christianity requires the least faith of all because it is the most reasonable. The authors lay out the evidence for truth, God, and the Bible in logical order and in a readable, non-technical, engaging style. A valuable aid to those interested in examining the reasonableness of the Christian faith, Geisler and Turek provide a firm challenge to the previous beliefs of doubters of all sorts. | ||

This book has replaced The Case For Christ as my first choice for what apologetics book I would recommend for the average person. Christianity's most compelling reason to believe is that it is actually based on knowable truth and Geisler and Turek have written an enormously compelling presentation of that truth. LIke the Case for Christ but unlike so many other texts, they have written a book that anyone can read and appreciate. Importantly in this day and age of the post-modern worldview, they begin by showing the irrationality of the idea of relative truth. This sets the stage for their presentation of the scientific evidence for the existence of God. His existence and nature are further supported by the Moral Law that is evident to all. God's existence then must allow for the possibility of miracles. They then present the case that miracles have actually happened and that God has used them to endorse messages from His representatives. These messages are given to us thru Scripture and Geisler and Turek show why we can trust the messages about Jesus are from eyewitnesses who were truthful and whose testimony has been reliably preserved. This being the case, the only rational conclusion is that Jesus is who he claimed to be in the New Testament, the incarnation of the God of the universe. This is a logical, step by step, argument showing Christianity is the only faith that is grounded in truth. The evidence presented is very persuasive individually, but when presented together in such a clear and rational way, one is faced with the ultimate decision of what they will do with Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God. |
